The Reverend Phelps is in Bakersfield, again. He's still protesting the same 'ol thing (God Hates Fags), but this time he's not protesting the obvious places. This time Phelps is in town with his mob to protest a funeral of a soldier who recently faught and died in Iraq. The Phelps group is claiming America is being punished by God for its tolerance of homosexuality, resulting in the deaths of soldiers from roadside bombs. I didn't make that up. It's their stance. In digging around I was not-so-shopcked to see they also have some really bizarre views on world events.

Here are some:

• "God has become America's terrorist."

• "Thank God for the bombing of London's subway."

• "Thank God for IEDs (improvised explosive devices, also known as roadside bombs)."

• The Web site twists the name of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, calling it "Our Lady of Sodom Church."

Lest you think Gays are the sole target by the Kansas church, Jews, Catholics, Episcopalians, blacks and other groups also are targeted.
